Who is Shane Larkin?

Shane Larkin was born in Cincinnati, Ohio in 1992. Coming from a family of athletes, Shane began to carve out his own story by choosing basketball over baseball, unlike his father who was listed on the MLB Honor Roll.

He was selected in the first round, 18th overall, in the 2013 NBA Draft. After playing for the Dallas Mavericks, New York Knicks, and Brooklyn Nets for three seasons, he transferred to Baskonia in the 2016-17 season, marking the beginning of his European adventure. After a successful season with his team, he returned to the NBA for the 2017-18 season to assist the Boston Celtics in reaching the Eastern Conference Finals.

In the following season, he decided to return to Europe once again to help Anadolu Efes reach the summit of European basketball. He achieved numerous successes with Anadolu Efes, leading his team to consecutive EuroLeague championships in 2021 and 2022. In 2019, he made history by breaking the record for the most points scored by a player in a single EuroLeague game with 49 points against Bayern Munich.

During his time in Turkey, his love and commitment to the country grew stronger, leading him to become a Turkish citizen in 2020 and becoming a part of the Turkish National Team.

In 2022, due to his deep affection for Turkey, he established the Shane Larkin Foundation to help the youth and children in Turkey whom he dearly loves.
